Cat's out of the bag so to speak, I was out road hiking and I FINALLY snagged a photo of a bear in it's natural habitat! LOL
It was one of those rarely seen Costco Bears, the kind that prefer to lounge around on floor model recliners and only goes out to prowl the store aisle by aisle in search of food samples. I've heard its fav is those frozen Baclava pastries smothered in honey. Just a rumour.
It's "been a week" around here, yesterday I was mucking about in Toronto and arrived home at 9:30pm last night. Long day but extremely productive and rewarding. That drive home in the dark on that ridiculous 401 highway when it's kind of sort of raining? Not a fan of driving in that, not one bit. The whole time all I could think was that I was in an episode of the tv series titled "Collision" (and if you know, you know, if you don't, look it up). The transports as much as they spray were extremely well behaved but my wipers not so much, 1st world problems right?
So on the day I came across "the wild bear" I FINALLY met up with an old friend whom I hadn't seen since last March, I want to hype it up because it was a big find for me, perhaps not so exciting for y'all but hey, it's my page right? So maybe in a couple of weeks (aka Jan.30th) I'll post it. Any guesses?
Oh and did you know that it's mating season for foxes? Well now you do. Of course while I was in Toronto yesterday my husband called me from home and said he'd seen one walking down our lane and across the pond, then he THOUGHT he saw it again and THEN he saw TWO, together! Dang it, of course I'm not there! Geesh. They tore off down the lane towards our neighbours and man are they FAST. SO, I'll be throwing on the big boots and doing some tracking after the next snowfall and see if I can find their den. Wouldn't that be nice to don some camo and stake out a fox den (from a safe and non-invasive distance). I read that when they "do it" or "make-a-da-babies" they are locked in the bum to bum position for at least a half hour. If you see that, don't frigging gawk, look away and leave them alone.
Time to go and get my mane tamed and eradicate the grey in it (I'm going for a cut and colour at the hairdressers). It.Is.Time.
Drive safe out there on those slippy roads and have a super-duper weekend.
Peace, love and kumbaya,
Heather
